UNAMUNO logotypeThe UNAMUNO Network is the first initiative of joint cooperation among all the centers of higher education of the Outermost Regions of the European Union. (The Spanish Universities of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and La Laguna, the Portuguese Universities of Madeira and Azores, and the French Universities of Reunion, Guadalupe, Martinique, and Guiana).

The main objective is to devise a common strategy based on confidence and the transfer of information, knowledge and experience as the fundamental elements for the development of these outermost regions. The cohesion which will be created through this network, will promote a more active and coordinated presence between the participating partners, in the various forums and meetings [of interest] to be held in Europe, thus, favoring the European space for investigation, development, culture and education.

UNAMUNO will allow the comparison between the Universities of the outermost regions of the European Union, disadvantaged by their geographical location, with those that have come to develop successful joint performances, thanks to historical matters of proximity and greater funding.
